Vinyl Plank
Luxury vinyl plank gives you a timber look with a water-resistant wear layer, which is why it has become the default choice for busy family homes. It is quieter and warmer underfoot than tile, and far more forgiving of spills than laminate.

Why people choose it
Water resistant
Handles the everyday spills that would swell a timber-core floor.
Hard wearing
The wear layer is what determines longevity, so we spec it to the traffic.
Comfortable underfoot
Warmer and softer than tile, with less noise.
Easy to live with
Sweep and damp mop. No sealing, no polishing.
Worth knowing first
The trade-offs, said plainly.
Every floor has something it is not good at. You should hear that before you buy, not after.
- The subfloor has to be flat. Any hollow or hump will telegraph through the planks.
- Wear layer thickness varies a lot between ranges, and it is the number that matters most.
- Very heavy furniture can leave indentations, so use protectors.
Looking after it
Keeping it looking new.
Most flooring problems are maintenance problems. These three habits cover the majority of them.
- 1Sweep or vacuum on a hard-floor setting.
- 2Damp mop with a neutral cleaner, never a steam mop.
- 3Use felt pads under furniture legs.
