Worth knowing first
The trade-offs, said plainly.
Every floor has something it is not good at. You should hear that before you buy, not after.
- The core is a board product, so standing water is its weakness. Wipe spills promptly.
- Water-resistant ranges exist and are worth the difference in a kitchen.
- It cannot be sanded back, so a damaged board is replaced rather than repaired.
Looking after it
Keeping it looking new.
Most flooring problems are maintenance problems. These three habits cover the majority of them.
- 1Sweep or vacuum regularly.
- 2Use a barely damp mop, never a wet one.
- 3Deal with spills straight away, especially near joins.
